Quadcopters are very popular projects. It may seem that building one is complex task, but in reality it is much simpler than say building a helicopter. It is mostly semiautomatic where balance is relied to sensors and onboard microcontroller. Instructables user frank26080115 designed his own quadcopter so called Picopter. One interesting detail here is that all supports are made of PCB.
so no excess weight on additional supports. Controller board is based on ATmega128RFA1 microcontroller which holds a 2.4GHz transceiver that doesn’t require additional space on board. Picopter supports X mode flying, flight is stabilized with help of gyro and accelerometer. It may be controlled with Wii class controller plugged in to transmitter.
