There is always a battle between bicycles and cars on the road. Bikes are great ecological transport but not all car drivers are likely to share their road with slower moving transport. But this isn’t about conflict. But rather how to make bike riders life easier. Hammock Boy found original solution. Instead using simple red light flasher he made more advanced warning system – Bright Bike.

He took an Arduino board, mounted ultrasonic sensor to measure distance and surrounded it with bunch of bright LEDs. He put all this in a nice case and mounted on a rear of his bike. Device simply pings the distance from car behind and shines red LEDs. The closer car gets to bicycle the more bright LEDs become. This definitely should get some drivers attention.
