Do you think spoons and forks are only for serving table? Think again by watching this guy playing spoon Organ. He used spoons as touch sensors and this way made simple keyboard to play tunes.
PIC18 microcontroller reads capacitance changes of each spoon with analog inputs when finger touches them. Each spoon is connected using shielded cable. After processing data microcontroller sends it to PC using MIDI protocol. Circuit is so simple and uses only couple parts – so no problem to build it on breadboard. Soon Organ was used as demo in Make Tokyo 06 where visitor had a chance to give a try.
