It is a LC Meter, Not LL Cool J!
If you have a choice to DIY your own LC meter, would you want to try it? If I were you, I would say that “Why not?” At least, you don’t have anything to lose here!
Basically, today’s project is a LC Meter, which based on the AVR microcontroller that can use to calculate and displays L and C from the oscillation frequency using reference components. There are no relays and range switching in this project.
Those instrument requires in this project are a precision capacitor and precision inductor. You only need to start with one precision component, either the reference capacitor or the reference inductor. By using this LC meter, you can easily select or adjust the other precision component that you want!
Beside that, you need to use a very high accuracy BK Precision inductance/capacitance meter and sorted through piles of inductors and capacitors to find those that had the lowest error. Or, you might want to use those parts, a one milihenry inductor and 0.01 microfarad capacitor in this LC meter!
It’s time for you to start up this LC meter development project and have fun with it!
