For this project, the LEDs are being used as both emitters and sensors. Hence, you need to use 63 LEDs, where nine of the LEDs for each of the seven natural keys!

For your information, when the key was pressed, the middle LED served as photodetector. It absorbs light from the other LEDs that reflected from the finger. An audio amplifier is responsible to pass through the tone. By connecting headphone or speaker to the audio jack, the tone can be listened easily with it!
