The Easy to Build AVR Boost Converter
Most people didn’t realize that they can easily turn a microcontroller into an AVR Boost Converter.
If you’re trying to figure out the way to build an AVR Boost Converter since long time ago, then today’s your lucky day, as we’re going to develop this device!
Nowadays, the hardware becomes smaller and smaller. Go figure, those predecessors in the electronic gadgets, such as mobile phones and MP3 players have been shrunk into very compact sizes.
In this project, you must keep in mind that:
-
Anything smaller is becoming a challenge, as it getting a lot more difficult to solder by hand.
-
When you’re choosing a PSU, it’s easy to go the path many of us have gone before, which as just plug in a trusty 78L05 and use at least 7V of batteries.
-
If you’re recognized that the microcontrollers have a larger input range than the old TTL-chips, then you can feed the 4.5V from three AA’s immediately to it.
Basically, a good AVR Boost Converter can be used to step up voltage from a battery, by simply switching the output of a coil. Also, you have to remember to tie it to ground, so a magnetic field can build up in the coil. After it, it releases as a higher voltage than the input.
