When you’re walking on the hallways, have you ever imagine to build an extra cool device, which is enabling you to navigate large objects without sight?

Well, let’s meet the Ultrasonic Haptic Vision System! It uses the ultrasonic rangefinder that interface with the user via tiny vibrating motors and allows the user wearing it on their head.

The main goal of this project is to develop a sixth sensory system that can easily interacts with the body in an intuitive, while keeps the user friendly fashion in the same time. The best part about this device is the user can navigate the device without using their vision at all!

In order to provide feedback to a program running on the computer, you have to implement RF transmission onto the device, so it can keep track of the sensory data which being obtained from the mobile user. With this feature, it enabled the person who sitting in front the computer observing the distance between the surrounding obstacles and the user who wearing the device!

The rangefinder rotated on a motor at the top of the hat. It allows the user to take the sensory data at discrete points.
